Consider this before you hand over cash
Everybody seems to be joining a gym at the moment which I completely encourage. However, have you considered this? …..
What time of the month did you join?
As sales staff in gym clubs and fitness centres work on a commission based salary, they have to reach their monthly targets. As a result they tend to be a little more lenient and easier to sway in bargaining a better membership fee towards the end of the month. Never sign up at the start or middle of any month. Waiting until the end of the month may reward you with FREE membership and a lower monthly fee.
Good luck!
Beauty Care Tip Of The Week
Tip of the week.!
If like many people you are left with orange hands having applied your false tan DON’T PANIC.
I am going to let you into a little trick of the trade. It is not a professional recommendation and should not be used frequently, however desperate times call for desperate measures!
Exfoliate using a small amount of clothes washing powder and water to remove excess tan. It will dry out your skin but it will most definitely remove any unwanted traces of tan. Remember to moisturize thoroughly afterwards to combat the dryness.

Everyone nowadays is so worried and so concerned about what we eat. We are constantly reminded that “you are what you eat” and “your food is your fuel” Here are just a few good foods, which we should consume.
Oily Fish
Oily fish is an excellent source of omega 3. We all hear about omega 3, but what does it do? Easy, it helps fight against disease. It also helps improve the texture of our skin and hair. To summarise, we all need it in our diet and for those vegetarians out there, make sure you boost your intake by taking omega 3 supplements daily.
Green Tea
The green tea crazy is here and staying. Unlike many “fads”, green tea is proven to be extremely detoxifying, aids the digestive system and stimulates our metabolism. It contains less caffeine than black tea leaving you feeling more naturally upbeat and less toxic. I personally believe that drinking green tea is also very good to maintain clear skin. How many Chinese ladies do you see with bad skin? Yes, there are many more factors to consider, but green tea is definitely a strong contribution. Asian ladies who have westernised themselves often suffer with skin and hair complaints. This brings me back to the saying “you are what you eat”.
Avocados
Your grandmother would have been told that avocados are nothing but pockets of fat. This is not true. We have now discovered that avocado is actually a “good fat” not like we were previously lead to believe. They are rich in antioxidants and aid in slowing down the body’s ageing process. We have also since discovered that avocados help reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer. If you eat a lot of avocado, you may notice an increase in the oil content of your hair and skin. If so, you may reduce your intake, but don’t forget, naturally oily skin ages better than dry skin. There is one benefit to having oily skin!
Oats
Porridge kept us all warm before school on a winter morning. Even poor old Oliver relied on his porridge in the morning, so much to ask for “more”. However, did you know porridge could do more than keep you warm and fill you up? It is believed to lower cholesterol, blood pressure and may reduce the risk of colon cancer.
Spinach
Poppy was always strong and despite his pipe smoking, had a good heart. Eating your leafy green vegetables will help boost your intake of vitamins A, C, magnesium and folic acid. These are thought to help fight off cancer as well as lower the risk of heart disease and strokes. You will also notice an improvement in your skin if consuming your recommended dose of spinach. Due to the presence of magnesium you help reduce your risk of bone disease and or osteoporosis.
Garlic
Although not always socially acceptable, garlic plays an important role in your diet. It helps lower cholesterol and blood pressure, not to mention keep the vampires away!
Carrots
You will always remember you mother at the dinner table encouraging you to eat your carrots. She may have been exaggerating when she told you will go blind if you don’t eat your carrots, but she there was some truth in what she was saying. Carrots contain beta-carotene, which is the pigment that forms vitamin A. Vitamin A is a powerful antioxidant, which also helps promote healthy eyes. So it may not prevent you from going blind, but it may help promote healthy eyes. Moral of the story, mother is always right!
Mangoes
This is a seasonal fruit so when it’s available we should take advantage of its goodness. Mangoes contain beta-carotene, vitamin C and E and are said to boost the immune system. They regulate the thyroid and aid the digestive system. Furthermore, Mangoes are said to boost memory and help minimise the chances of developing Alzheimer’s disease.
Orange Juice
Oranges are an excellent source of vitamin C and flavonoids, which are powerful antioxidants. They help lower blood pressure and thus prevent future clogged arteries.
Kiwi Fruit
Did you know that kiwi fruit is also an excellent source of vitamin C. So if your not a fan of oranges or perhaps fancy something with a little more zang opt for a kiwi fruit and get your necessary source of vitamin C.

Top 10 Summer Beauty Tips
Summer is coming. You expose your feet for the first time in months and panic. Your hair seems dull and boring. Your make up starts to look just wrong. You need a summer re-vamp!
This doesn’t take much time or money. You don’t need to go spending a small fortune. Just take my top 10 summer beauty tips and you will be amazed at how good you look and feel. Prepare yourself for summer at a fraction of the cost.
1. Your hair seems dull and boring. Have you ever thought of lightening it naturally? Rub a lemon through your hair, and sit in the sun for a couple of hours. The combination of the lemon juice and the sun will give you beautifully natural sun kissed locks.
2. Sun, sea and sand are a powerful cocktail for drying out your hair. You don’t need to spend money on hair masks – having washed your hair, simply run conditioner through your hair, brush it through and leave for a few hours. This is an excellent way to condition your hair for summer you can do this on a weekly basis to keep your hair more manageable and less damaged.
3. Your feet may feel like something out of Jurassic Park but this does not necessarily mean you need to rush off and have a pedicure. Although I do recommend a good pedicure regularly, it is not always possible. Not having the money to pay for a pedicure is simply no excuse. You can always do it yourself you know. Scrape that hard skin away, moisturise daily to soften the soles of your feet, file your nails right back, apply a couple of coats of nail polish and you will not recognise your own feet. We are all guilty for neglecting our feet in summer. Prepare them now so it won’t be such a challenge come beach time. In addition, an excellent way to soften the skin and cuticles of feet or hands is to coat your hands / feet in a good moisturiser or Vaseline, cover them with cling film, then cover in plastic bags. Then cover them in with socks. (Yes even your hands). As silly as you feel, your feet / hands and surrounding cuticles will be beautifully soft and moisturised the next morning.
4. Invest in a good SPF for both face and body. You need to protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun. I cannot stress the importance of sun protection. This is one thing I do not suggest you scrimp and save on. Particularly for facial protection opt for something that contains iron / zinc oxide as its main ingredient. This is an excellent protective barrier.
5. Put your lippies in the fridge. During the summer, your lipsticks will melt and go to mush. Avoid this by storing them in the door of the fridge.
6. Less is often more: As you all know ladies, during the summer your make-up literally melts off your face. Nobody finds this attractive. A simple sun kissed look with minimal make up is far more attractive than a sweaty looking woman with make up dripping from her forehead to her chin in seconds. Keep it all to a minimum. We all vary in what we consider minimal make up. During the summer I will wear, at most, concealer, powder and lip gloss. At nighttime I will pay more attention to my eye area but certainly not during a hot summers day. Make up and a hot summers day is a bad combination so avoid this scenario.
7. Beauty comes from within. Drink plenty of water to re-hydrate yourself. Eat even more fresh fruit and veg. Fresh juices and smoothies are a good way to increase your intake of fresh fruit and / veg. Think of yourself as a car. If you put bad fuel in, it will not function properly. You are what you eat!
8. Your skin will dry out from exposure to sun and seawater. Ensure to moisturise regularly to avoid this.
9. If you have old bikinis, tops, skirts etc. don’t throw them out. Dye them. You can be creative by tie dying them or even just altering them with pretty beads, sew on patterns etc. Bring them to life this summer.
10. Give yourself a facial. My key to good skin is to hydrate and protect. If you don’t have the money to have a facial, give yourself one. Pamper yourself. Cucumbers to the eyes, Avocado / egg mask to the face, kick back and relax to gentle music. If you feel good, you look good.
Top 10 Tips To Sparkling Eyes
- Get a good 8 hours sleep every night. Puffiness and dark circles are just not a good look.
- From the age of 21 everybody should use a good eye cream / gel. Use both morning and night. Some eye care products have a build in SPF. This is excellent for during the day, but use one without an SPF for nigh time.
- Shape your brows. Always keep your eyebrows defined by having them waxed / tweezed regularly.
- Eyebrow tinting can make a dramatic difference to your eye area. As well as trimming the brows, tinting provides us with a well-defined brow, thus improving the eye area.
- A little concealer under the eye area can go a long way. Apply over your eye care. Foundation is not always necessary. Often concealer on blemishes, under eye area etc and a little dust down with powder can be enough to even out your skin tone.
- When applying eye shadow, be careful. Colours such as red, maroon etc can often make you look tired or even sick. It’s always great to experiment with colours, but if you want to play it safe go with neutral, beige, light brown, sandy colours. Anybody can wear these colours and can’t go wrong.
- Eyelash tinting and perming is an excellent way to emphasise the eye area. You can have both treatments together giving you maximum results.
- For a dramatic look, build up you mascara in layers. Be careful not to clump it. Never “pump” your mascara as this clogs the brush and will clump on the lashes.
- Eyeliner can be fun to experiment with, but be careful not to close your eyes in by coating the entire eye area with pencil. Perhaps try white eyeliner. It’s a great look especially in the summer.
- Reduce puffiness and tired eyes but applying 2 dampened tea bags to the eye area and leave while you relax for approximately 10 minutes. The same can be achieved by putting 2 teaspoons in the fridge to cool, apply to the eye area and relax for approximately10 minutes. AH!
